I finally got Battlefield 2 and started to play it. I have to say I was disapointed, and I call fault at all of you guys :P Everyone just talked about how its the best game out there and how its SO GREAT, It is good, at least once I started playing it for a while, it would be in my top ten,, but I dont think its as good as everyone told me.

Also i may have got this conception from a while ago and a high end card wasnt as high end now, but I remeber hearing you needed a high end card to play BF2 on high settings? I have a Geforce 6200 256mb OCed by default to 400\800 with 100% distance nad all on high settins(I have aintalising off though, Since I havnt noticed a difference[What is it suppoed to do?] when its off or on, and when its on, and i get a little bit laggey with it on when there is alot of stuff going on, mainly explosions. But qwhen its off i never get laggy)

Its a great game I cant deny that, but I dont think its lives up to the rep that people give it.

when i bought it i thought it was going to be great. when i got it is was ok. and you really dont need a high end graphics card cause i have a radeon X300 SE 4 pipelines 64 bit 128 mb memery and i can play it on mostly medium to high settings.

ya...its alright..i was very dissapponted too when i started playing. i dont like playing it anymore becuase f'n EA screwed up my acount i worked soo hard at... it was fun while i played but wasnt as fun as CSS. the thing that kept it from being great was all the bugs and things that should of been thier bast wasnt.

yea wat resolution are u on? i love it and its a great game. try playing all high settings with a high resolution and see how it goes.

I was on all high, and my resulations were 1280x720 because that was the max the moniter would support(at a firends house and it was his spare) Next time i play at my own house i'll push it up too 1600x1024 because thats this moniters max and see how it plays.

i do have alot or nice ram too, which helps alot more then people would think(the alot part) I dont see how people will spent 500$ on a video card but then only get a gig of ram. I find my ram usage goes past 1gb alot of times when playing.

I never said it was the best... In fact I was just like you, I was disappointed. Its an okay game, maybe a 7 or 8 out of 10, but nothing special. And its one of the buggiest games I have ever encountered.

BTW- Antialiasing eliminates the "jaggies" which are the small jagged edges on some objects. I dont really care for AA that much and would take the Jaggies for a 10 FPS raise.

personally, it was not until i was in my first good squad until i truly appreciated the game.

..and when i learned to fly, as well...

Thanks for the explaination, At least i know what it does now, any links to more info on how it actully works? I', interested and curois[sp?]

I think the whole thing on how you need a awesome video card was formed by the same people as always, the people who think ram is unnimportant and get dual sli 7800gt's and stay with 512mb of ram[kay, maybe I'm exagerating a little bit, but just to get my point across]

Oh, heh maybe I wont get it then, just BF2 regular doesn't seem to buggy, I'll klet them fizx up the expansion for a while first :P

Except when you try and get in a plane and some idiot from your team flashes you so he can get the plane or chopper instead. Happens all the time. Same with the gas.

Wait for European Forces (the next expansion) I don't have much info but I think there will be...European forces? :P I tried Special Forces but it was too buggy to run.

A little off-topic but does anyone know how to go into punkbuster-enabled games as a non-administrator? Apperently it is some kind of stopper for non admins so people on school or library computers can't play BF2.
