BF2 Problems...

I've had this problem ever-since I bought my 7800GT. I never had it with my ATi X800... Anyway, this is it:

When I'm playing a game (online) everything is smooth. Until about 15 - 20 minutes into it. It's a really strange problem. It just starts acting really botchy and jittery, like your in lag but worse. And then, what puzzles me even more is that this problem exists only on certain parts of the map! I can face one half of the map and everything will be smooth, and then I turn around and I have lost control of my character because it's so botchy (as if it's running at 2 Frames/second).

I'm totally confused about this. I have tried running it at stock speeds, but that hasn't fixed it (if anything, it feels like it's made it worse). I've tried re-seating the card in the PCI-Express slot, checked the bus speed in the BIOS (100 Mhz). The only thing I haven't changed back to stock is my CPU clock-speed. Infact, I'll give that a go now and let you know how I get on...

Please help me, it's really beginning to annoy me.

P.S. This problem isn't evident in other games such as UT2004, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory...

What's your GPU temp, to get that out of the way.

Well, when I'm lucky and I haven't managed to have this problem for over an hour of gaming on BF2, it's around 53 - 56*C... Idle, it's at 45*c.... (I have a network adapter right under it, probably less than 1 CM gap between the two).

Anyway, just gone into the BIOS, returned everything to do with CPU speeds to defualt. Now I'm gonna check if it's fixed anything.

Thanks for the help so far guys!

Original clockspeeds could help alot, and that card seems like its running on the hot side.....Your idel is my temp in an hour into the game. I have a bfg geforce 6200 Oced by default.

Well, I tried it with original clock speeds... After about 40 - 50 minutes of playing, the same problem occurs. I face one side of the map and it's all jittery, and I turn around and everything is smooth...

Yes, but not nearly hot enough to be causing artifacts... They are designed to take heat. My core slowdown temp is 110*C (it says that in the nVidia Display Settings).

but what i mean is in any newer online games
*sry didnt say what i ment *

I don't really own any others than BF2 and UT2004 (they are the main two I play). And does it matter if it is online or offline?

Also, it can display part of the map correctly, and then I turn around and it's gone crazy??! I just don't get it...
