Bf2 Resolution On Widescreen Monitor

i recently just got a viewsonic widescreen monitor, when in the bf2 game there is no option for my widescreen resolution, does anyone know how to make this work?
 
I just get this started. I've never done this so I don't know, but I've heard you have to edit the resolution in the config file. Or something along thoes lines.

your best bet would be to google it.
