I am planning on purchasing this video card, I was wondering what you guys think of it? It looks to be a pretty sweet deal after what ive seen and heard of it. It can run Crysis on high settings with good fps. I also have another question being that im new at this, whats the difference between the ram in a video card? Like say a 512mb and a 1gb.

Yeah its alright for the price,I do suggest getting a 1gb model though.

512mb these days imo is teh min for gaming,especialy with games like GTA IV :)

and im sure Crysis would appreciate that extra vram?
 
Thanks for all of your replies guys, I still have two more questions though. 1). So what would be the difference between this and the 9800?
2. What is the true meaning of the ram in the gfx card and how does it work in the game?
 
The GTS 250 is a 9800GTX+ and there is no difference.. at least none i know of.
VRAM helps a lot at higher resolutions, 1440x900 and higher if i remember correctly.
 
yah, make sure you get/got a good power supply. I cheaped out and bought a 650 watt Rosewill, which should have been enough for my bfg gtx620 oc but it's not. :-| my antec 500watt powers it fine.... tho I can't run all the drives I wanna run with either, saving up to get a good p/s soon
