Big Difference 2.8ghz And 3.2ghz X2?

Hi-

I Was Wondering If There Was A Huge Difference Between An Athlon X2 Socket Am2 2.8ghz And 3.2ghz Cpu. I Made The Mistake Of Ordering The Athlon X2 5400+ Without Reading The Reviews On The Athlon X2 5000+ Black Edition. Apparently You Can Overclock The 5000+ To 3.2 Ghz Without Increasing Anything Except Your Multiplier To 16. You Don't Even Need A Better Fan On Your Cpu. I Would Be Glad To Return My 5400+, But I Am Not Sure If It Is Worth It. I Basically Just Use The Internet And The Only Game I Play Is Painkiller. I Guess What I Am Wondering Is Would I Notice A Difference Between The 2.8 Ghz And 3.2 Ghz?

In benchmarks? Yes. Regular computing, probably not much.
 
You can overclock the 5400+ as well, you just need to mess with the bus speeds and voltages.
 
I would keep the X2 5400. Depends on the one it is, they make a 90nm. and a 65nm. X2 5400. The 5400 probably has a little bit better higher yeild core than the 5000. If you dont mind overclocking by the FSB and not just jumping up the X I would say the 5400 would clock alittle higher.

Does AMD still manufacture 90nm CPUs? Really? Wowwweee...

Dunno the price difference between those two, but I understood that one of them (the one you DIDN'T get) was a Black Edition, and I don't think it's really worth the unlocked multiplier...Black Editions are completely multiplier-unlocked, ain't they? Well anyway I'd just keep what you've got now...
 
x2 5000+

the 5000+ is nice ... and i got mine 3.0 without voltage change for 3.2 you have to up it a bit..Newegg has good reviews on both

I would stay with your current CPU. You will notice very minimal benefits with the black edition. Chances are getting an extra GB of ram should cost about the same as upgrading your CPU and will yield better reults.
