BIG Problem

Hi,
I installed my motherboard and all the cords and pins, and I turn it on. It appears to be running because all the fans spin, BUT nothing appears on the monitor. It just stays on standby. What is causing this?

is the graphics card all the way in the pci express slot. did you plug the monitor to the computer.

recheck all of the connections for that. if thats not the problem then you might have accidently shocked your motherboard while installing it. :(

Gfx Card is all the way in, monitor is plugged in...neither onboard video or my video card work (they did work before, when I had my old motherboard). I was just on Step 15 of Michael Steven's Moving XP Technique. This doesn't make any sense.

If it means anything, I only have like 5 of the 7 risers in, but the board isn't touching the metal, so it doesn't matter, right?

Could have fried something... try the on board video with out the card. Check all the connections again as well.

"they" suggests more than one as it's a plural of "the" , So are you talking SLI/Crossfire or just a TYPO?

Like what has been suggested- try with just the onboard graphics and make sure the pins aren't bent in the monitor plug, Maybe even try a different monitor/lead, Just remember to only change one thing at a time to limit the varibles of the problem !

I got it to work by taking out 2 sticks of RAM, I put them in later and it still works...I don't know why, but hey, whatever.

Thanks.
