Ok well here the story goes.
I took my pc to the computer shop as it kept blue screening, there verdit was reinstall windows xp.
Now I have 2 hard drives, a 40 gig one with my operating system and a 300 gig one with all my documents and music etc.
I boot up with windows xp disc, oh it asks me if I would like to repair, I thought this would seem like a good option for now rather than reinstalling everything, didnt work so I thought Ill do a fell install of windows on my 40 gig. I did this and windows is now on, however when I try and access my other hard drive with my documents on it, it is asking for a format. I never even touched the other hard drive. Now the weird things are....
Its still the same but doesnt have a (FAT) or (NTFS) only (RAW)
Secondly it has been renamed to Local disk D when before it was called new volume F.
Thirdly disk management is only detecting it as a 128gig hard drive when it is a 300 gig hard drive. Now I had roughly used about 128gig of space on it before hand.
So I need a few quesitons answering please.
1/ What has happened?
2/ Is there any way to recover my files on the 300 gig as I havent touched it.
3/ What is the best action to take?
Thank you, Scott.
