Big problems with my DVD drive

hi folks

i play burnt/real cds in my player then the whole thing stops

it does this on more than one media player. ive tried many cds.

in the middle of the album, the light on the drive stops blinking and stays on. then the media player says its not responding.

what can this be?

could it be mallware? could it be the drive?

please help

I would try a different drive first, borrow one if you have to. Try the easiest things first.

Don't worry too much about this, just turn everything off, pull the plug out, and discharge the power. DVD/CD Roms electrical circuitry is covered in a case , so they aren't easily damaged from electrical surges from your body.
