BIOS and Hyperthreading

Hi there. I am a computer moron, lets get that straight right off.
I was wondering how I can tell if my BIOS supports Hyperthreading?
I am considering upgrading my CPU from a Celeron d to a Pentium 4 HT. According to Intel I have a chipset that supports it, but my BIOS must also.

It is an IBM board with an Intel chipset, and when I access the BIOS info it says: System Board Identifier D8656GKD
I hope that is what you needed to know.
 
Unfortunately I'm not really up to date with IBM boards :(

Maybe it works with a bios-update, but I'm not sure.
Did you already upgrade your bios?
 
What you need to do is reboot your computer, when the screen first comes up it will list which bio's revision you are running and what your motherboard is. You will have to write fast since it is only up for a few seconds.

Once you get that info, come back and post it.

The only catch is if you are running a computer that was built by some big company, the chances are that you have a splash screen covering up that info when it first boots.

List the model of your computer if it was built by one of the big company's like Dell or HP. That way we can look up your system and find out if there are any bio's upgrades available.
 
Usually by default it's enable. Just get to task manager and if it shows 2 cores...

Or if you know the nickname (ex : Conroe, Northwood)
