Hey guys The Bios chip in my computer may be dead is there any way that I can replace that myself or is the whole PC dead?

anything would be helpful because I need to get some info off the HD..

Depends on the motherboard, some motherboards have the bios on a socketed flash chip, others are soldered to the motherboard. But if you need to get info off a hard drive why dont you just put the drive in another computer as a slave?

Depends on what board it is, if its removable or not. Some boards have a bios utility to reflash them too.

Put the drive on another computer and pull the info. off.

It is not user replaceable.

Yes you can, but not on boards with the cmos chip soldered to the board. I've replaced a few myself.
