BIOS Dilemma

I have a BIOS dilemma. I contacted someone who would desolder my laptop bios and reflash with special equipment. Problem is I can only get the EXE bios file from Dell while the special reflashing equipment requires a BIN file of the bios. The laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1000, so any help?

have you tried an exe to bin converter program? i know they exist i just googled them however i can't really recommend one as i've never used them

Why on earth would you do something like that, may I ask? Why don't you just flash it yourself. I must admit, something sounds a little fishy to me. lol. What are you trying to do to the poor thing besides void your warranty?

well even if you flash it yourself it voids the warranty why? im not sure if they made it work like its supposed to then we wouldn't have to flash...and i just noticed "special flashing equipment" isn't that one of those rare things we call floppy drives?

EProm programmer is the term for flashing a bios chip outside of the case. You don't find something like that at Radio Shack or some other consumer electronics store. You have to be running a diagnostic shop just to purchase something like that in most places.
