BIOS features killed my game performance?

I am going to go back to try and isolate which BIOS change did this. Basically, I made a few tweaks in my CMOS setup utility, since my motherboard is only about 2 weeks old and I've left everything in the default settings until now. I wanted to explore all of the fancy BIOS enhancements advertised on the motherboard's box.

I changed:
-Turned on Q-fan for CPU fan (chassis Q-fan still off)
-Turned on ESD guard (this feature is non-existent in the motherboard book, oddly, but the gist of it is found in this video).
-Turned on Asus Expressgate w/5 second timer

After this, the game I've been playing, Witcher, was unacceptably slow at full settings & at 1920x1080 . I went back and undid the BIOS changes and the game runs perfectly. Anyone heard of ESD guard slowing things down? Perhaps Expressgate?

Try to undo the changes you made, perhaps even just resetting the bios.

BTW... that ESD is a load of crap. Maybe it'd help in some cases, but I've shocked the hell out of my computer at work (I could clearly see the spark as I plugged in a flash drive) and there was no damage to speak of.
