Bios Flash gone wrong :/

I have an Acerpower FH with a 946GZT-AM V1.0 intel chipset. A couple nights ago i tried to flash my computers bios i downloaded the newest bios version from acer.com and followed the instruction in the word doc that came with it. After restarting, the computer wouldnt boot and it makes a continuous beep. i have tried to reset the cmos by taking out the cmos battery and leaving the computer for a day unplugged but this doesnt work either. also switching the cmos jumper to reset cmos.

Any suggestions?! i cant seem to find a bios chip anywhere online.. and i would rather not spend $300 on a refurbished mobo considering i got the comp for free.

thanks for your time!

Really the only thing you can do is try and get a new bios somewhere. I would try calling the manufacture and see if they can do anything.

maybe its not the bios thats the problem, maybe you bumped the memory or something, check other cables and reseat the memory. there must be a way to reset the cmos, maybe your not shorting the right pins.

What problem were you trying to solve by updating the BIOS? If you don't have a specific reason to update the BIOS then you shouldn't because of exactly what has happened to you.

Best bet is to contact the Mfr, they may have you send the mobo back to them for a new BIOS (on your dime). There are websites that may sell a BIOS for your mobo but I don't know any to recommend.

I suggest going out and buying a replacement motherboard from Gigabyte or Asus in the range 60-100. OEM motherboards suck anyways - so feature stripped. if the PC is free, either put in a little bit of money to fix, or just throw it away...cost you nothing anyways...
