BIOS Issues

Hey everyone,
I have an (outdated) Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe Motherboard that has been having BIOS issues. The problem is, every time I turn off my pc completely then turn it back on, the screen stays blank. The only way I have been able to fix this is by resetting the CMOS (change jumper from 1-2 to 2-3). Then when I start back up I can finally get into my OS. I have repleaced the battery by the way, that didn't change anything. Also, my CPU clock speed is running at about half of what it is rated at (1025 Mhz is its current speed, should be at 2.06 ghz) It's an AMD 2800+ (yeah i know, it's old, whatever). Here are my complete specs below.

500 Watt Power Supply (Forgot the Brand)
Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe Mobo
Geforce 6200 256mb AGP Graphics Card
(It gets me from A to B, stop laughing ;-)
Belkin 54G PCI WiFi Adapter
(2) 80 GB WD800 Western Digital 7200 RPM Hard Disk Drives
(2) 512mb Corsair XMS3200 RAM
(2) SATA RAID-0 WD740 Hard Disk Drives
(I took the RAID Array out to test, that's not the problem)
16x DVD+/-RW Dual Layer Drive
52x/48x/52x(?) CD+/-RW Drive
Logitech USB Peripherals (Mouse [MX1000] and Headset)
Keyboard is Generic PS/2

Thanks for any help ya'll!
Danny

Nothing wrong wit ha 6200... That one's more powerful than mine, I do beleive!

Anyway, my first guess would be the batter. I assume you tried a new one in there? If you're sure you have, flash the bios. Other than that, I really don't know unless you just have a failing motherboard...

Hm.

Yep I swapped a known working batt. out of my other PC and it still didn't work. (The other battery did, however, work in the other PC). Grr. I think I may try flashing, ugh, I hate flashing. Oh well. Oh and yes I do like this card a lot, just wish I had PCI-e. I'm assuming yours is based on your processor, therefore it communicates faster with the RAM (turbocaching) and probably owns mine. It does run F.E.A.R. quite nice though... if only my CPU wasn't running at 1025MHZ!!!!! AGH!
