bios not detecting hard drive

Hey guys, I have been trying to install windows on my brothers computer for days. Ive ran into a series of problems, and eventually eliminated some by trying to install it on another computer and having a successful installation. The current problem i am having is that the hard drive is not recognized in the bios, but when I start installing windows, it shows the hard drive and I can format it, and windows starts to copy files onto it. Then windows reboots itself, and then windows starts to install from the cd again. I'm assuming this is because the Bios doesn't see the hard drive. Ive set the disk boot priorities all to the hard drive, and nothing seems to be working. I need to get the bios to see the hard drive. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If the BIOS doesn't see it the windows install shouldn't either. What hardware do you have, can you list it all?
 
HD: Western Digital WD2500 S-ATA hooked into 3.0G/B ps port

MB: Gygabite GA-K8NXP-SLI

CPU: AMD 64 3700

CD: HP DVD 635

GRAPHICS: CHAINtech G-Force 6600

RAM: 4x512MB DDR400

Well, I narrowed it down to just being the hard drive. I took it out of his computer, and plugged it into mine, which already has windows, and the BIOS didnt detect it, but windows did. So im going to try to do a low level format on the drive and hopefully that will fix any errors or anything that might be going on in that thing. Any help would still be appreciated. Thanks
