BIOS Not loading

Hello i am a bit of a novice at all this so please bear with me? I have recently installed a new mobo and P3 and all the conponents.

I am getting power but on start up it is loading about 30% of the BIOS and not going any further. I have tried taking it all apart and put it all back together but so far no joy?

Would appreciate any advice

Cheers

What do you mean it loads about 30% of the bios? Are you actually getting a display? Many of the POST operations are done before the GPU is initialized :P

There could be many problems here. My first guess, if it's a(basically) new build would be some incompatable component. Be sure the processor's 100% compatable and you have the correct BIOS for the processor. RAM can also cause a problem, just different brands and all. Bad power supplies, bad wiring, etc etc...

If you mean that your bios will partially load and hang there then it usually means (in my personal experience) that your hard drive is failling to be recogniseds; try unhooking your hard drive(s) and see if that helps. If you have more than one drive you should try and test by trial and error to find the problem drive.

If youve tried what Hairy Lee and the Other one said, then that would be a motherboard problem, you could try and reset the cmos.

if your using IDE drives, especially with the older cables, it can do this when the cable is in upside down as older ones fit both ways.
check them on your CDROM and HDD, also the FDD.
