As soon as I boot up my computer, I get only this message:

BIOS ROM checksum error
Can't read A:\ Floppy disk
System halted

and the beeping is like a machine-gun

Please don't tell me I have real problems

have you tried removing the floppy?

If removing the floppy disk doesn't work, then try removing the whole floppy drive. You will get an 80 error, but it is bypassable

Can he just dissable the floppy drive search option on boot up, or will that eliminate the use of it completly?

if you eliminate that, it does not totally disable it, just tells the computer not to search the floppy drive to load anything.

So yes, you could do that.

Everything you all say is fine, except the problem is that I can't get into the CMOS or do anything in BIOS Setup. My computer doesn't boot up to that point. I get "system halt" before motherboard or HDs are recognized.
Never had a system freeze up so fast on boot up.
