Hey all,

Just booted up a new comp newly built and now the motherboard refuses to recognize the hard drive. We have a Western Digital SATA 80 gig hdd, the motherboard is an Asus A8V AMD 64 3500+ socket 939.

P.S.- We have tried to flash the bios by floppy disk and cd-rom. It will not recognize the floppy and it will not read the file on the cd.

What do we do?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Nope it still says that it can't read the bios from the floppy

This is what I did; downloaded the bios and put it on the floppy, Did i do something wrong?

The K8T800Pro chipset doesnt natively support SATA (although the K8T800 does ... stupid VIA), you'll need SATA drivers :)

When you install the OS, press F6 when it says to and load the drivers .. you dont need a SATA "BIOS" per se just drivers. Here's a little article http://www.chovy.com/2004/12/install-sata-hdd-on-asus-a8v-deluxe.html
