bioshock crashes

I read that Bioshock has DRM and it causes problems, but is still a really good game. Did this cause problems for anyone? I really want to play it, but if it crashes alot I would rather buy a different game. Any thoughts?
 
i tried playing it on vista and was able to get half way through the game before it crashed... i can't remember the problem but i think it wasn't able to read the cd, w.e, i was sooooo bored with that game it wasn't even funny, i was just forcing myself to finish it because i paid for it. I really don't get what the big fuss is about for this game... so ok, you can change a few things in the menu to kill a zombie a different way... WOW!


dont buy it unless you can get it for cheap

Hm interesting, I'm loving the game. It's a nice change from all the other fps's i've played. It just seems like a deeper game, more physiological impact than games like Crysis and COD4.
 
You can solve any "cd not in dvd drive" piracy-copy protection nonsense with a no-dvd crack from gamecopyworld. I got that in both Cod4 and Bioshock, fignja.

what happened to yours bars underneath your username hermeslyre? mine vanished a while ago and i haven't been able to figure out why. no admins seem to know either. Did you change something in your control panel recently?

I have no idea.

But in fact I did, and I rarely mess with the CP [sic]. I noticed the bars missing.. yesterday and I changed mah profile pic, signature, email address and acct. password the same day or the day before. Could be related. i unno.
 
Download and buy Bioshock off of Steam. The worst you have to put up with is the initial download but, otherwise, just put -nointro onto the shortcut and you're playing Bioshock in seconds.

So your not having issues at all? Or just working around them?

I would be fine using a crack. Anyone know how well it works with Vista? And would my PC be fine?

I would, but I have an amazon GC I want to use and they have it for 30$.

I worked around them with the crack. It would work fine on Vista, it's just a "fixed" exe.

A PD isn't the best, nevertheless you should have little problem playing it high.
 
bioshock crashed whenever it finished loading the third level. i unchecked the reboot pc when hardware/driver fail in system restore. after the third level, i checked the box again, and it ran smoothly til the end of the game.
 
So it was a BIOS issue? That's weird. Well, as long as there are solutions I think I will get it.
