New pc build...everything is working fine besides audio driver.

Tried using CD and downloading from biostar site. Looks like it installs, PC reboots and no audio device installed, no sound.

Just not sure why nothing will show up. Nothing shows up for sound on lower right of task bar. In settings, sound has no device showing.

Is there any other way to install a driver besides disc and website...or is there another problem besides the driver installation? This is my first build and everything has gone pretty well besides this. I didn't think an audio driver would be my only issue!

Look under system devices in device manager. Is there an entry labeled "Microsoft UAA bus driver for high definition Audio"? If not, then that is why the sound driver won't install. One of those pci devices is that device. What you can do is right click on each of those and click on update, point it to windows update and it should automatically install it. Then you can install the sound driver.

Ok Johnb I think we're getting somewhere. That Microsoft UAA is not there but when I click on the pci device that isn't properly installed it says it cannot install and won't update. How do we get that Microsoft UAA?

I have tried directly from realtek. And yes sp3 is installed. When I install the drivers everything looks good but doesnt register.

Thanks everyone and JohnB! I googled the microsoft uaa and found a download of that specific driver. All is running now!
