Birthday build

My only complication is that I want it to be micro ATX or mini so this build is a no go.

change to this psu, more power and with rebates is cheaper, and if you don't get the rebates you still got a good bit more power for not much

Ehh pretty good, but through research I've discovered an even better solution.
I would like to know if it'd all work though.

do you know if he plans to game on this or just school/work type stuff? if gaming then that is the cheapest way to go, if doing work stuff then that is a waste of money, a phenom x4 would be a bit faster.

Is he going to game on this? Plus the case and power supply pretty much suck.

It is well within my price range.
$357.95 for these parts alone and this will leave me room for keyboard, speakers, monitor, CD Burner, and a mouse, but my main concern is compatibility. Will these parts work together?? Also, am I missing something? I feel as if I'm missing something.:/

What do you suggest as far as a PSU and Case? I'd really prefer something that's not plastic and cheap but has a good price tag.

EDIT:

How about this case and PSU

said it earlier, you need a copy of windows, the cheapest that works with this is the 64-bit oem version of home premium.

also you never said if he plans to game on this or not.

don't get those, that psu will kill your computer in a fireworks like explosion, and hec just sucks

ends up after the psu's 4.50 off and all the rebates plus shipping just under 600. but this won't go far at all in gaming, don't think it will even bottom out some newer games.

First off, I'm going for micro ATX (hence the AMU and the case)
Second off, the PSU has worked for thousands others and it will work for me.
Third off, you pick out rubbish parts.
and last but not least... This build I've picked out is badass.

How the hell are these rubish, 10x better than anything you picked out, the cpu is faster, higher quality motherboard, great quality psu unlike that pile of sh1t you posted, my ram was also very fast and great name brand at a good price, and a nice looking case, i guess i'll just stop helping you if you're going to be that way, and i didn't know you wanted a mATX build, and why, full atx give way better features, and it's barely bigger than any computer you'd buy at a store, my mid-tower atx case is only a inch or 2 taller than my emachine, which is a mATX, the loses of mATX aren't worth an inch or 2 space.
