My birthday is coming up soon and I'm thinking about upgrading my pc. I dont know what to get so I just need to know what parts are the worst on my pc (in my sig..i think) I think I need a dvd player for newer games too but other than that I have no idea what to get. I'm not sure what my budget is yet but I think around $100-300

Bump. I thought about getting a joystick like this
because my PC is ok for now except the cd drive, but the only good game I can find is MS flight sim. I'm not paying $100 for a joystick so I can play one game are there any good mech games for pc, or maybe a flight combat sim?

what is the MSI RX800???

I dont know....one sec im going to find out what my video card is..
EDIT:
Processor AMD Athlon(tm) 64 2009MHz
Display Card ATI RADEON X800 Series
Memory 1024MB
Operating System Microsoft Windows XP
Free Disk Space 145.16GB
Display Card Memory 128MB
Display Driver Version 6.14.10.6505
DirectX Version 9.0c
Optical Drive CD-rom
Sound Card Realtek AC97 Audio
appparently I accidently added an R anyways heres what windows game advisor says about my system.
I guess my pc is pretty good maybe I should just get some games.

Ok im probably getting battlefield 2 and oblivion (not that anyone cares :( ). Is there any map that give me rings or something to fly through? I'm mainly interested in the flying part. Can I use a joystick for flight in battlefield 2?

yes you can fly in bf2. Copters and jets. It's a good game. Don't know about oblivion

P.S: If you have anymore money, why not upgrade your graphics card?

No more money, and I dont want to use the joystick for oblivion. Will I be able to use all the fancy stuff on this joystick? I will probably upgrade my graphics card for christmas since those games should keep me busy for a while. I saw someone doing plane stunts on a bf2 movie and he has this fancy map with arches and stuff to go under. Where can I get a map like that?

You can fly copters and jets in BF2 and its very fun. But usually the stuff you can fly throug are like bridges and stuff on ground. There arent any obstacles in the air unless its like a mod.

Ok I may be able to get $300 instead of $100 what video card should I get and what are some good simple case mods? Oh and I think my Power supply is overheating Is there any way to fix that without opening it?

Maybe more ram or a cd drive. Always could get a faster hard drive. Power supply is overheating, jeez man, stop OC'ing or get a better one. That or go to regulations and see if you can mess around with it, if you even can that is.

My RAM is fine until next gen pc games come out. I'm getting a dvd-rom drive possibly even a dvd burner. Turns out there was a little knob on the back that I accidentally bumped and it turned of the fan so I'm good now. pretty much all I want is a video card and some fancy lights and stuff to make my pc pretty. All I need to make my videocard reccomended for battlefield 2 is 256mb of ram. Is it even worth it?
EDIT: would this video card be good http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102688

That's a good budget card. If you have $300, why not get a x1900xt? (I think like $240 after MIR, which leaves you 60 bucks to get a DVD drive and maybe some cathode lights for the case.)
