a friend just reccomended i use bitlord for downloading music he said its really good for getting whole albums.

so i was wanting to know who uses it and what people thought of it, how safe it is re. viruses, spy ware, mal ware and all that stuff???

as far as the legal stuff goes its pretty safe i would say

As far as bittorrent clients go, it is not really the best. I know of some Some trackers that ban Bit-Lord, Shareaza and others because they do not "play nicely". Your best bet for a bittorrent client would be Azereus or uTorrent.

Just for legal things now, like Linux distros

i'm more worried about clogging up my new computer with viruses and spyware than anyting else. i know kazaa is a shocker for that sort of thing what are these bittorent programs like?

a torrent is a small information file that contains the file names and the trackers, or the location of the download.

uTorrent is small and fast

Yes,　utorrent　over Bitlord or Azureus anyday.

Whatever P2P application you're using, you're prone to getting unwanted viruses or spyware. Just make sure to run a scan on the file after it's downloaded (I also read somewhere checking the hashfile in torrents prevents infection). Some trackers also have an option where users can post comments about the file so you can check what others think about it or if the torrent carries malware before downloading.
