Bits and pieces

Hello all, new to the forum..pretty psyched.

A question I have had for years, having muddled through building many computers from bits and pieces: how do you get the pieces for wiring and what is the best way to go about it?

Let me clarify: on the mother board there are those clips for power button, harddrive led, reset switch, etc. But the chassis I have don't always go with the mobo's that I would like to use, so I've had to cut and splice clips and things like that...

Is there a supply store or something online that y'all (Texas conjunction) use?

You mean those little plastic caps that you put wires into? Places like Radio Shack used to sell that stuff before they got bought out like 15 years ago. I'm not sure where to buy them now but there must be stores around.

Failing that you can 'salvage' them off of dead parts

Yeah, that's what I have been doing, but I wanted to know if they could be bought anywhere or if there was an easier way to do it.

It's a shame when the determining factor as to whether or not you use a motherboard in a chassis is one of those little plastic caps, yeah?

Some online stores might have them but i cant think of any. But maybe www.ebay.com has them.
