ya, you gotta forward the port you want to use. it doesnt just magically happen
ive been reading up on that a while ago and attempted to do that. I went to the windows security center [i have windows xp by the way] and went to firewall then to "exceptions" then add port inputed like 53829 and some other stuff for TCP then retryed. still didnt work
you gotta configure your router to forward the port to your computer
unless your router is configured, the port isn't making it to windows firewall in the first place.
look and see what your router is, then google "brand/model port forwarding" there will be step by step directions.

like i said in my first post i dont have a router. therefore its not a problem dealing with a router
well, how is your computer connected to the internet?
my computer is connected to the dsl machine and thats it. nothing else connected to it
that would be a single port router
what's the model of your dsl modem?
o is it really? i thought machines that split your connections were only called routers.
