In the new official bittorrent client, I know there is a way to limit uploads, but you can only go as low as 4kb/s. Is there any way to completly turn off uploads?

also, without uploads, u cant get downloads.....most bt clients give u download speed 6 times ur upload speed..... eg: upload 5 kB/s.... download: 30 kB/s................try not to set the upload lower than 8...its bad for u

i trust ur not being naughty (illegal) with bittorent?...anyways ya alot of bit clients do that ratio thing like someone just said so i like to turn my uploads as high as possible for the best downloads (as long as ur internet connection could handle it)...why do u want to turn it off anyways?...

Becuse my internet service provider cannot except the fact that if they are going to give me a line that can download upwards of 1000kb/s, i am gonna use more than 15GB of bandwitch a month. So when im downloading linux distros with BT, people usually are using like 5GB a month of my bandwitch :(

Sharing is cool =)
dont think there are any programs that let you turn it off.. but some let you cap your upload speed to 512b/s.

Yeah, I guess I will just live with my ISP, they are ok. :(

I understand also, I hate waiting for torrents because of no seeders.

well...set ur upload to be 3-5..ATLEAST..from that u will get around 20-30 kB/s ...if ur lucky..40-50 kB/s...plus, most clients wont let u set it under 3..cuz u wont get any download
