.bkf file empty? Windows XP to Windows 7

Hi, I recently backed up all my files in a Windows XP Backup (ntbackup.exe) .bkf file, and wiped and installed Windows 7. I'm running VMWare Workstation, trying to restore the .bkf to my XP Pro Virtual Machine, but whenever I try to open it, it just hangs for maybe ten seconds, then nothing seems to change (i.e. it's as if no file has been loaded to ntbackup).

Now, trying to open the .bkf file in Windows 7 (just with textpad), it gives me a message saying "Disk full while trying to open XP Backup.bkf". So I'm wondering: would ntbackup load nothing if it didn't have enough RAM and/or hard drive space? Could it be that I'm opening it up from a mapped network drive mapped to a Windows 7 folder?

Input would be appreciated.

And, no, I doubt it's corrupted. It had no real chances to become corrupted, as I'm pretty sure I verified it after backing up, it's the right size, and because (although I'm not sure how .bkfs work), but wouldn't it still display some of the files? There were a lot of them.

Thanks

I can't seem to find the modify button, so I'll just post again:
Problem has been solved; apparently, it was some kind of remote accessing issue, because after copying the file, restoration works perfectly.
