What do you mean by this statement? I do not understand.

I attached my hdd to home pc and now that does it so its def the hdd.

I took the hdd out of my laptop, and i unattached the lead from my hdd in my pc and connected them to the hd from my laptop, (i swapped them over) it must be the hdd in my laptop thats broke because once it connected to my pc that has a blank screen with flashing cursor, i just need to no if theres a way to clean up the hdd to get it to work again

The hard drive is defective if it is performing how you said. Hopefully you had all the data that was important backed up from this hard drive. A defective hard drive cannot be repaired in most cases.

The solution is to buy another hard drive or buy another laptop.

You are lacking in relevant information.
If you hooked up your laptop hdd as the only drive on your desktop it will not boot.
Did you set it up as a secondary drive?
If so in some computers like my Dells you have to turn on the sata ports in bios to see the drive.

Edit: My bad. You said it was the only drive.
You need to set it as a secondary drive to see if you can still access the laptop drive.
Then we can go from there.
