Black screen on a Compaq CQ62 and won't turn on afterwards.

A few months ago my laptop stopped working completely. It won't turn on at all. Right before it stopped working, there was a black screen displayed that wouldn't go away. No matter what button I pressed, it would not go away. Frustrated, I just took the battery out. Maybe a mistake, but I didn't know what else to do. Prior to that, it was displaying a screen saying my battery had low capacity and should be replaced. I recently went to a friend's house (that has the same laptop as I do) and thought her battery would work inside my laptop and that the laptop was the problem, and when I put her battery in, it wouldn't turn on. That's what got me worried and led me here because I'm afraid I might have lost my data.:confused:

You will have to take the hard drive out of the laptop and attach it to another system to test to see if its accessible, it should be. Most likely you have electronic damage to your system from the battery. Did you keep your laptop plugged in all the time? If so, thats most likely caused issues with your system.
 
How would I do that? Oh yeah I did have to have it plugged in all the time because that's the only way it'd work. That really sucks.
 
Well, I was to cheap and bought that exact laptop, Quite a few problems with it, but my power board failed in it (alnost).It is rare for it to turn on, but if you like take out the battery, put the charger inl, thake the charger out, put it back in, take the battery out, put it back in, etc, it might turn on.But, its all luck, and your damage might have been worse.
 
Yeah, I only had a certain amount of money and had to buy that laptop. Lol. Yeah. I've tried it and I have a feeling it's the hard drive. Unfortunately. Thanks!
 
No, deffinatly not the hard drive. Computers boot up with a broken HDD or without one ( I have tried on that exact lappy), it is almost deffinatly the power board, like I said, the things I said to try were hit or miss, and your damage was probobly worse than mine.
