picture you unhook your monitor from your video card and start your computer....

this is exactly what i have happening right now. I click my power button, all fans start, everything lights up, cd rom starts acting like its reading yada yada monitor stays off like no signal


so i pull out my video card and plug my monitor into the onboard video, same result.

so i pull out one stick of ram, same result.

i swap that stick of ram with the other stick of ram, same result

i unplug the hard drive, same result

at this point the only thing left is the processor (i changed motherboards 3 days ago because i kept getting blue screens etc and thats what i thought it was)


is this my processor?
 
Firstly check its not your monitor by plugging it into another pc and turning it on, if it works take it home plug it into the onboard video, change the settings in bios to allow for this, if it works then your gpu is at fault(though normally you should hear a continous or series of beeps depending on m/b if gpu is at fault) if still no joy check the connections and then try a different psu
 
I'm going to have to agree. If your computer sounds like it is starting up like normal and running, then more than likely your monitor has stopped reading the video signal properly. This happened to me about a year ago, I was using my computer, shut it down forgetting something I had to do. Rebooted the computer, and got nothin' because the monitor died...
 
Try to swap with a known good monitor just to check if you have a defective monitor. Are you having the same problem even before replacing your motherboard? If no, then it's possible that problem was triggered after replacing the motherboard. It maybe with the motherboard, processor or one of the cards. My guess is either the board or the processor.
 
it sounds like it might be the monitor. i would just swap it out. actually, maybe its the cable the connects the monitor to the video card. (is it called a vga cable if i remember correctly?)
