Black Screen

I can't get past the initial black screen at startup. I tried resetting the CMOS, ran the pc without the HDD plugged in and reseated the GPU/ RAM cards/ CPU. I also checked the Mobo for any damage, but i saw nothing. I think maybe my CPU failed or is fried, but I came onto this forum to make sure I don't go needlessly spending money changing a computer part that didn't cause the problem.

My computer: HP Pavilion a6750y
Upgraded/Changed Parts: AMD Radeon HD 7770 Diamond GPU, WD Black Caviar 1TB HDD, OCZ ModX-Stream 600W Power Supply

So you have re-seated the graphics card, but have you tried removing it and running it with the onboard video if you can?
 
I just did that now and nothing changed. Another thing to note is that a spinning sound (I think it's the cpu fan) used to get loud and then run quietly afterwards when my pc was working, but now it just stays loud.
 
It could possibly be a motherboard problem.

Have you tried testing each stick of RAM individually? I know you say you've re-seated the sticks, but have you tried each stick individually?
 
I would say you have a dead mobo if you don't even see a post screen. Open the case and look at the motherboard. Do you see any bulging or leaking capacitors?

I didn't know bulging capacitors mattered, thought only leaking ones were a problem.

EDIT: that's bulging right?

lol XD I just wanted to get my pc working for the time being while i get the parts together

EDIT: Ty for the help you two, I might have given up trying to get my pc working for the time being. :D

Yes, I am sorry to say but you have a dead motherboard there.

It's easier just to replace the motherboard.
