blank entry

can you please tell me what these blank entries are? And how should I go about removing them? Or if I should at all? Using a reg cleaner scares me.

I uninstalled a program once and it left a blank entry like that. I just unchecked it and left it there. I suppose you could remove it with a registry edit, but the entry doesn't effect anything.

wouldn't worry about it in startup. Its just what it says. Ive disabled several in the past and let it go. Never been a problem. I just don't need some starting every time i turn on the computer. I will manually start. On the other hand you can use CCleaner and then tools and startup and delete the entry. I would just let it go.

Basically its an orphan, a startup item that has a non-existent target file.

They usually occur because you've disabled a startup and then uninstalled the program later on and the entry got left behind. Entries can also get left behind if you rename or move the target file somewhere else at some point.

Delete it, the program has long gone.

Better explain that different. What do you want to install. Download the exe (freeware) and execute or install the cd or dvd if ya bought it. Are you installing a program? Or if you installed a program and want access to it then start/programs.

if it is my computer I will go to the regedit and check these entries and remove them if there is no exact name there.

Of course, you should scan your computer with security tool finally
