Blank screen problem

Hello everybody!

I have problems while playing games - after a couple of hours of playing my LCD goes black and into Power saving mode. I have to shutdown and reboot my computer in order to get the picture back (just restart button doesn't help).

I did some memory tests, but found no errors.
What could this be?

My sys. specifications:

2 GB DDR2, 533 MHz
P4, 3.0 GHz
ATI X1950Pro (latest drivers)
OS: Vista Ultimate

Thank you for your help.

With Vista you have to create a custom profile in the power options found in the Control Panel. Most likely Windows is set to turn the display off after a certain amount of time according to the power profile option Windows is currently set at. This doesn't turn the monitor itself off but instructs the video card not to send any signal to it. This would be the first thing to look over.

Have you checked your GPU and CPU temps and what kind of P/S are you usings, X1950s use alot of power and runs hot. I dont think its your power setting doing it, I set all my monitors to shut down after 20 min. but it only does it with no mouse activity.
