Blank screen

Before I went to bed last night, everything was working perfectly. On ocasion the screen would flicker but no big deal. This morning when I went to my computer the screen was blank...but had that dim light that you knew it was receiving picture just not displaying it. I switched monitors and cables so I do not think it is a problem with that. Only thing I can think of is the video card. Nvidia 5200. Help please.

Have you tried re-booting the computer with the monitor turned on? The computer may have just gone to sleep, or be hibernating, and its difficult to wake it up sometimes.

it sounds like the power saving feature built into windows, did you try re-booting

i've had this on several occaisions... the flickering in my experience is the monitor saying thats its getting ready to die.... my old compaq P110 has started doing it recently, luckily i have a spare waiting to be hooked up.
if you haven't changed any settings make sure all the leads are in securely. otherwise all i can suggest is that you get a new monitor
