I recently finished building my new gaming rig and have been getting BSODs. Here's some technical info:
Intel Core i5-3570 (Not 3570k, so not overclocked. Used the included heat sink and fan.)
Asrock b75m r2.0 (Installed all of the drivers, but did not update the BIOS using internet flash since I'm not using the on-board LAN and Ethernet)
Baaqii WA035 PCI 150M 802.11n/g/b 150Mbps Wireless WiFi WLAN Network Card adapter (Because I have to use wifi, installed all of the drivers correctly.)
EVGA GTX 660 Superclocked (Installed the 320.49 drivers with GeForce Experience. Runs at about 65°c max[As far as I've seen. Haven't really tested the temps much])
Logisys PS575XBK 575w psu (Has an 8 pin cpu power whereas my mobo takes a 4 pin. I'm pretty sure that the 8pins are just 2 4pins so I just hooked up one half of the plug)
2x4gb Gskill Ripjaws DDR3 (Don't think this is any part of the problem but I may be wrong)
500gb Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm HDD (Bought it off of ebay for $15. Could very well be the culprit.)
Windows 7 Home Premium (I installed it from a flash drive. May be the problem)
Most of this information doesn't help, so I'll go over the codes.
I've mostly gotten a different BSOD code almost every time so there are a lot:
0x000000F4
0x00000050 (I've seen this one twice)
0x0000001A
0x00000024
0x000000E4
I hooked literally everything up and plugged in the flash drive to my computer, then used the UEFI bios to boot the flash drive. I did a custom install and did a format of the partition just to be safe before I installed it. It took a while and then restarted and booted to windows 7. I started by installing the included drivers on the driver disk that came with my mobo. After that I installed the drivers for my GTX 660, and then DirectX 10/11 from the disk. I then installed the 802.11 driver card that came with my wireless card.
I then installed Google Chrome, Origin, Steam and the finally Battlefield 3. After the excruciatingly long download time, I joined an empty server to set up my graphics. I setup the resolution and such and then started messing around when my audio and video froze and made a looping ringing sound, and then I got the BSOD, with the memory dump error. The code I got was 0x000000F4, and then my computer restarted. I tried again, only to get 0x00000050 this time. I looked around at some forums and couldn't figure anything out, even after re-installing Origin and Battlefield 3.
I wiped my computer and re-installed windows after a clean format of my hard drive. This time, I got a BSOD at first launch. I believe it was 0x000000E4. I shut down my computer and tried again, no BSOD this time. After installing Chrome, Origin, Steam, and BF3 again, I launched the game. Seemingly again, I got a BSOD within about 2-3 mins of gameplay. When I shut down my computer, I realized that my graphics card was pretty hot, so this time I had GeForce Precision open at the same time off to the side to see what my gpu temps were, right before the BSOD, they were only about 59-62°c. I looked up the running temps of a superclocked 660 and found out that those temps were pretty normal. Tried testing the cpu temps, never reached over 48°c. (kinda stays at that temp) After trying multiple other times, I only got the following errors (codes):
0x0000001A
0x00000050
0x00000024
On one it said something about paging so I changed the paging setting but to no luck. I just realized about 10 seconds ago that I never tried installing the drivers for my RAM, but I doubt that is the problem. I will update this post if that fixes it. Otherwise though, I am completely stumped.
