So my grandparents installed the newest version of IE (9 I believe..) and they called me over to check to see whats wrong with the computer. Everytime I boot up a blue screen comes up stating the following (verbatim) :
-------------------------------
A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
If this is the first time you've seen this stop serror screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need.
If problems continue disable or remove any newly inbstalled hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or sahdowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.
Technical Information:
*** STOP: 0x0000C1F5 (0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
---------------------------
I've tried to get into the Advanced Boot Options using F8, but it won't open. I managed to open it once, but haven't been able to since. I've tried about 10-11 times.
Any time I get to the startup screen I have the following options. Esc for the boot menu, which brings up both "HDD Group - Raid-0 : ST3320820AS, and CD-ROM Group - 3rd Master: TSSTcorpCD/DVDW TS-H652M"
I've tried to boot from both of them, which brings me to a screen allowing me to choose from "Launch Startup Repair, or Start Windows Normally." After I select either of those, windows starts loading files, and the blue screen appears once again.
Another option I have from the startup screen is F10 for setup. I AM able to pull up this option. I selected from there the Boot menu in which I moved the HDD to the first priority boot option. Tried to boot, same thing. Blue screen.
The last option I have on the startup screen is F11 for system recovery, however I can't access this option either.
Any help guys? I've tried everything I know how..
