Blue screen when installing OS

This just started hapening very recently. My sister messed up our computer (kazaa, lots of sites with spyware) anyways, i had to reformat and reinstall windows on it. However, this time when i started to install Windows XP Home, during the setup i got a blue screen error message (something about page file dump), and i tried about 4 more times, and all of those times it got stuck while copying a file and it couldnt read any file past there. So i installed Windows 98SE, and i got a blue screen a few times, however i was able to finish the install and now its operational, but when i try to install XP Pro, it keeps giving me those blue screen error messages.

Do any of you know what could be causing this problem? at first i thought it was the cd because it was pretty scratched, but then i used win 98 which isnt scratched but it happened again. So now im thinking its either a hard drive, motherboard, or ram problem. And i tried taking that hard drive and putting it in my comp and installing XP home, but it happened to me to (and i have the same motherboard and ram on both comps).

Any help would be appreciated!

try removing one of your sticks and leave one in, repeat this process with all your ram taking turns. This may help identify any suspect sticks
