Blue screen

So my mom had the computer blue screen. It does not even show the hp symbol it just goes straight to blue screen. I cannot say I am surprised being this computer is over four years old. The Comcast guy dropped by and when fixing her internet he installed a patch on her computer and then the next time she booted it up it blue screen.

I assume you have tried safe mode, maybe you could try connecting the drive to another machine and see if you can remove the patch.

Start the computer in safemode and do a system restore to a previous time.

Open the Start Menu.
A) Click on All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and System Restore.

So I have not been able to get a hold of my mom since I have asked the question about the blue screen, she has told me that finally the computer has got past the blue screen and MSE said she had a infection and it cleaned it up. Now her computer is running slower then usual, I am going to give her a call tonight and just have her do a system restore anyway and hope her computer is fine.
