Maybe someone can help.
I have a Toshiba A200/Vista.On startup i am getting bsod sometimes many times before starting successfully.Some of the fault codes i get are 0x0000050,124,101,9c, and oc2.
Has anyone got some ideas how to check for problems

Do the following.

Download BlueScreenView
No installation required.
Unzip downloaded file and double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.

navigate to C:\windows\minidump Right click and click on send to compressed folder. Then attach the folder to your next reply.

A few different things are coming up in these dumps. A couple bring up AVG antivirus as causing the bluescreen. A couple are saying memory issue and the majority of them are referencing Intel hardware as the issue. So lets do 2 things here.

1. Uninstall AVG and install a different antivirus program such as Avast or Microsoft security essentials.

2. Check your memory for errors by downloading a memtest cd and booting to it and it will automatically check your memory for errors. Get the memtest ISO here.

Download that file, unzip it and then use burning software that will write iso images to cd. Then boot to the cd.

I uninstalled avg like you said.
I also downloaded memtest and burnt img to cd but when booting
to cd nothing happens and then it boots to hdd.

I suspect it is a hardware problem possibly graphics card.

On the memtest cd you created, use windows explorer to look at the contents of the cd. You should see this.



If not, you didn't do it correctly. How did you write the cd? You just can't burn the iso file directly to the cd, it won't work. The software you are using must be capable of working with iso files. Download imgburn to write the iso file to cd.

That just means winzip has been associated with that type of file. Did you double check to make sure cdrom was set to first boot device?

What drivers have you updated? One is a driver issue and the other is a hardware issue but both are probably related to the other. Are you doing anything in particular when the pc crashes? Or is it still doing it just on bootup?

I would look in device manager and look at these driver dates.

Display adapter
Sound
Wireless
Chipset

If any of these have a driver date of older than a year, would check to see if there is an updated driver.
