Blue Screen

Hey guys. I was playing Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow, and I went to leave the game and a blue screen appeared. It said something about a driver or hardware error...Here is a link to after I sent my error report. Error Report. Do you know what may have caused this? Sorry, I didnt think to write down what the screen said, I will remember to do that next time.

Thanks,
Derek

Well, thats a good question. I went to Nvidia's website just now, downloaded the drivers, and went back and did the exact same think I did before. I got to the same part in the game, saved it, and exited the game. It didnt do the blue screen again. Maybe the driver was just out of date. If it didnt do it this time, does it mean it's fixed? And before I started the game, it told me to switch my computer settings, and it also said that my vid. card wasnt compatible (it had one X, the rest were check marks) and the x was on some weird, small technicality. So hopefully it's fixed. I dont need another problem, I 've had enough as it is. :).
Thanks for the help,
Derek

I should also note that when I restarted my computer after the driver update, it didnt start. I had to turn it off, and restart it, and then press the power button immediately. For some reasont doing this kind of jump starts the computer if it doesnt work at first.

I would run Memtest just to be sure it isnt a RAM problem. I had the same thing happening, turned out it was the RAM. (The XMS2 is arriving today FINNALY!)

Good idea. Where can I find Memtest? I will google it, is this th ebst way to find it?

THanks,
Derek

there are 2 versions of memtest, floppy based and an iso you can burn to a cd if you do not have a floppy. leave wichever in the appropriate drve reboot your computer and when it starts to come back, either look to see what key to press to get to set up or press del or F1 or F2
once in setup, set the boot option to boot from floppy or cdrom. save, the computer will then do it's thing.

Alright, thanks. And welcome to the forum, very first post was helpful. Also, thanks Helmie and TOO.
