Blue Screens and Program Crashes - HELP

I just built my computer, and have waded through just about every issue. Now I have come to this one. Every now and then, my firefox or my CS source with crash or "program stopped working."

Also, sometimes I will start up my computer and when I try to start firefox, it will "program stopped working" before the browser even pops up, and it will do that every time I try to start it. Every time I exit CS source, it says it has stopped working.

In the case of the repetitive firefox crashes, I can usually just restart the computer and it's fixed, but the computer is too new to even allow me to want to let that go, then...

Last time, I waited to restart it, and my computer blue screened. Upon windows loading on the next restart, it blue screened again. I now started it up and it appears to be running ok, I am typing this in firefox. I don't feel like this issue is going to go away, and I think I'm going to have program crashes and blue screens if I don't do something. Any advice?

my case seems cool, as do the temperature readings of easy tune, or cool enough. I'm new to this, and not sure what to do.

I am not sure what style of case you want, just find one with combo deal

have you made any recent changes to your pc? if the computer is new it is more likely to be a software problem.

not really, just installed some monitoring programs, but other than the blue screens, it has been doing this every once in a while ever since I built the computer like a week ago.

edit: a search of firefox crashes and blue screen came up with some complaints, and I think both blue screens were upon opening or crashing of firefox, but I'm not sure and I'm in firefox fine right now, just wanted to add that.
 
o right so it could be a hardware problem, have you overclocked? sound like computer is not stable, try running other programs.
 
no overclocking as of now, completely normal, all I have installed is firefox, starcraft 2 beta, and hardware monitoring software.
 
I have done nothing in the bios, my friend who did the bulk of the building did stuff in the bios when we first assembled it, but I don't think/know if he did any of that, is that something I should or should not have done?
 
its something that needs to be done, are you sure your mem is running at 1600? if it is and the correct voltage has not been entered for the mem it could cause stability problems. Download prime95 and run large, if mem or cpu not right then you will crash.
 
I just tried to launch CS and Starcraft beta, first try CS said not responding and I closed, Starcaft crashed before the game popped up.
 
if you crash its a cpu, or more likely a mem problem. Either you got a bad stick of ram or if not on the right settings.
 
I don't know where I would see any warnings, but I let that program go to test 11 and then stopped it, all it had listed was for every core, such and such prime number test 1 through 11 and some stuff before test 1 listed, but no warnings or anything.

I am running on the first service pack or something like that I think.
 
if you want their a program you can download from seagate's website that can test your HDD called "seatools"
What os do u have?
