blueprints for MOBO dimensions and other components

I want to design my own tower using anodized aluminum and need exact dimensions (within .0005") for the screw patterns of the mobo, psu, hdds, etc. I found a machine shop that is willing to make them for a reasonable price (less than 20% of retail for any aluminum case on the market anywhere). I have a few ideas for the exterior but the idea goes nowhere until I have exact measurements for the internal frame which will hold the mobo, the HDDs and optical drives and the PSU.

Anyone????

There all kinds of shapes and sizes these days for cases. Cases generally allow for different board sizes as well. You would have to bring a case similar in shape and size to have the mounting measured for seeing how things are mounted. You generally won't see any blueprimts only the basic external dimensions like heighth, depth, and width when looking over product information on any specific make and model case.

I thought that would be the first answer I would get. The idea is to start my own brand of computers and I wanted to have everything on paper in order to apply for a patent before I placed the order. I can just see myself taking delivery of 500 towers only to find out later that they all have mobo fasteners that are off by just enough that the pci slots don't line up and the boards can't be mounted. Plus I'm thinking that if I take a tower manufactured by another company into a machine shop to have them blueprint the internal frame I'd probably be infringing on someone else's patent.

What you need there you won't here namely a person who can draft a blueprint for you from scratch. A mechanical engineer would have to be consulted since this is intended for business and not simply a custom mod of your own. Any blue prints someone could come up with here would still end up in conflict with someone else's patent. end discussion
