Bluetooth Dongle

installed a bluetooth keyboard and mouse set on a computer and it loaded just fine, but now when the comp starts it sits at the inital testing screen and pauses while the bluetooth dongle is in, i pull the dongle and startup resumes, i can place the dongle right back in but it will not load with the dongle in. The system is a bit older and could this be a USB1 problem and would a PCI card with USB 2.0 slots solve the problem?

P.S. Sorry for the post here forgot i was still under operating systems, Could this please be moved to proper forum heading...

Your dongle should be USB 1.0 compatible. If you have a USB 2.0 card lying around, it wouldn't hurt to try.

What OS are you running on, and what make/model of bluetooth hardware are you using?

After the system boots and you are at the desktop or the login screen, can you then plug in the dongle and use the computer normally?

Yes as soon as i unplug computer continues to load and can plug dongle right back in and keyboard and mouse work fine after that, just seems to pause loading.

That is strange... At least it is working once you boot.

In the BIOS do you have USB support enabled by the BIOS or OS?
