Dell Bluetooth Drivers

bugless69,

My name is Larry and I am a customer advocate here at Dell headquarters in Texas. I came across this thread and wanted to check to see if you have already gotten the driver problem for bluetooth on your E1705 fixed.

If you haven't, the steps to fix the problem are as follows:
1) Uninstall the Dell Bluetooth software from Add & Remove Programs in the Control Panel.
2) Check Device Manager to make sure the bluetooth adapter has been removed . If it still appears in Device Manger (either under Network Adapters or it may have its own Bluetooth Devices category) then right click on it and pick Uninstall.
3) Install the latest driver. For the Inspiron E1705 that driver can be downloaded from http://ftp.dell.com/network/R117967.EXE (for the Dell Wireless 350 Bluetooth Adapter) or http://ftp.dell.com/network/R127314.EXE (for the Dell Wireless 355 Bluetooth Adapter with Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR Technology), depending on which your system shipped with.
4) Reboot the computer. When it starts back up you will probably see some 'Found new hardware' messages: this is normal, and it should automatically load the drivers.
5) Once the system finishes starting up you can begin the Bluetooth setup, which is started by clicking the bluetooth icon in the sys-tray (lower right corner by the clock).

If you have any other questions or problems feel free to let me know. I can be reached by email at [email protected] (please add 'ATTN:Larry' to the subject to ensure it gets to me).
