Blurry Upclose Pictures

I have a cannon powershot (dont know the model # - im at work) - for some reason when I take pictures up close they are VERY blurry. For example, I was just playing around and went to take a picture of my eye... but it was just very blurry/poor quality.

Are there certain settings that need to be changed to get good quality photos at close distances like that?
 
You need to be in Macro mode and make sure the camera stays still.

You might want to use a tripod and make sure that your eye doesn't move too :)
 
The focus is for close objects.

Macro mode is usually a mode with a flower on it.
 
You need to be in either Macro or Super Marco mode, depending on the model camera and how close up you are. If you try to take a closeup photo on Auto or any other mode, it will be blurry.
 
Yup, as the others said, you need to be in Macro mode... just remember that, depending on your camera you may not be able to get up very close.

btw, it's "Canon" not "Cannon" :P
 
Yeah I do have macro mode and was able to do what I wanted. BTW I have a Fujifilm a700 not a caNon =D

I needed to take an upclose picture of my eye. Couldn't get as close as I wanted, but it did a decent job.
