Boarding School Question

This is regarding the Quad core processor and the core duo E6600:)

Ya see im going to boarding school since my mother is a med student. im leaving August 4th were driving to West Virginia (thats where it is www.linsly.org if u wanna see it) well this computer will be my dorm computer and i will be using it all the way until college (most likely) and the reason i picked the core 2 duo was because i new i could get it and build the computer real fast. but if i wait for the price cut (the 22nd) will that give me enough time to build the computer for it to be up and ready. i dont want to take the chance that the processor will be sold out and i wont have a processor for the pc. so any ideas should i bite the bullet and buy it @ 500 dollars. if not should i wait for the 22nd and will that give me enough time to build the computer (this will be first build) so any idea's???

I would buy it now cause if something is DOA then your pretty much screwed cause you will have to RMA it then it probably wont be back in time. So I say buy it now.
 
dude if it is sold out it wont take more than a week for newegg to have them back in stock. just keep checking back on saturdays :)
 
i know but im not worried about how long its gonna take to get there i am worried about how long it will take me to build it this is my first build.
