boot from cd

ok so i dont know how to boot from a cd, and i really need to know how because i have windows xp home, and windows is freggin gay and it gets the blue screen of death, which i have right now, everytime i turn on my computer it loads then the blue screen of death comes during windows xp loading, so i just want to install linux but i dont know how to boot from cd
 
When you first turn on your computer look for something that tells you "Press (key name) to enter setup" This is usually an F key. Once there look for something that will allow you to set the boot order. Make sure that the CD-ROM drive is first.
