Okay, i have partitioned my computer successfully to have windows and ubuntu. However, in my spoilt way i want to change to use slackware -- i have the disks and all is ready -- but -- when i come to run my computer with the disks, even though i set it to run the disk drive it ignores that and runs the grub with no option to run from the disk drive. have i missed something vital? can anyone lead me in the right direction or have the answer?
thanks :)

im not sure, but try changing the boot order in the bios, its probley booting from the harddrive first, you should find a option to change boot order
