does anyone know where the computer stores those logos (the small or large one) that some computers put on the screen while it is starting up (like when its telling you press del to enter bios..
it might be stored in the chips not the hard drive infact it prolly is, but if it was on my hard drive i would want to try to change it.. lol

I know its not on the hard drive, cause you can boot to bios an get that pic without your hard drive connected. I think its saved in bios some how, on the motherboard. You might be able to change it through bios, but my guess is you cant, cause its the manufactures logo, and they wouldnt want you to change it anyway.

im sure i can change mine. one of the programs i got with my gigabyte motherboard came with a program to change a bios logo. im think its a bios logo anyway, its some logo

the asus update utility has a thing called my logo where you can have you own pic at boot... i haven't bothered to try it cos im not that fussed

thanks for all the replies ppl, yeah if i need to flash my bios to change it, it isnt worth the risk of power failurs half way through and screwing up my mobo... but thanks for telling me :)

I know it can be done because at my school some people changed the boot logo to a redwings logo. Although I'm not exactly sure how they did it because there are passwords preventing you from accessing the bios.

1. We're not talking about bootlogos, rather about BIOS logos
2. Passwords never stopped anyone
