I use XP pro. I recently installed 4 gigs of RAM in my computer. I went and did the /3 gig switch trick (changing the little boot ini text file thing). It seemed to be working fine, but the main program I installed it for, crashed a few times after I did it. So I decided to try and put everything back to the way it was...
I messed up somewhere. Sorry if the details arent perfect, this happened this morning just before I had to run out the door for work...
Basically my computer starts up, gives me 3 options in the black & white menu. The options are...
Windows XP Professional
(blank)
Default Startup (or something like that)
No matter which one I click on, it basically just goes through the motions and eventually comes back to that same menu. Is there any way I can go in and restore the boot file to the way it was originally? I think that would solve my problem. Maybe not?
I REALLY dont want to restore my computer. I have a meeting tonight and I have to burn some CD's w/ info that is on my home computer. So I will basically have 2 hours to get home after work and fix this problem. If anyone can help me out with this, I will be forever grateful.
